Slipping through our grasps

Summer seems to be fast reaching its conclusion. Big sighs. The kids are starting to feel summer slipping away. The pressure is on to get in a few more fun days. Swimming, Six Flags, Sunsplash, Sleepovers. They can feel them moving out of reach & they're trying to squeeze out the last drops of summerness. If we wish to avoid the other "S" word that's looming just beyond the horizon - School -, we must not go to any store as they are all filled with Supplies. Fall sports are sending emails so we have to avoid our inboxes. Easy button commercials are filling the airwaves...avoid...avoid! Schedules arrive in mail boxes so we won't check the snail mail either.

Relish playing with friends, flexible schedules, sleeping in, staying up late, night games, long boarding, swimming & all the other things that are unique to the magic that is summer vacation and forget for as long as possible that School & all that it entails is about to blow out summer's candle.
