Tomorrow. Yikes.

Tomorrow is fast approaching. Very, very fast. We are still on schedule to leave Auburn tomorrow and head south. I can say that heading south doesn't sound like too bad of an idea right now, Epic Road Trip or no Epic Road Trip. It's freezing & raining & windy. My least favorite weather. Today I've had a hair cut/color (thanks to Aubrie), two more school meetings to get things finished up (thanks to Janet Sutton a million times) and am now doing more packing & deciding how much to take and organizing. I've had some questions about the Route our ERT will take so figured I'd lay it out quickly & follow up with more detail as we go. 

Our first stop is Temecula. Some old friends (I mean how long I have known them, not age) are letting us crash at their house as a So Cal home base. We plan on hitting the San Diego Zoo & the beach while we are down there. 

Following So Cal the plan as it stands is: Grand Canyon, Albuquerque, Carlsbad NM, Austin, New Orleans, Alabama, Virginia. (the route home is yet to be determined but will be more of a straight shot across)

My goal is to blog regularly and to include photos and videos of the action. I hope that all of our friends stay in touch with us and follow our progress. The internet is awesome. Maybe we will meet, at least in the virtual world, some new friends. Who can resist the idea of watching as a family of 7 tries to gypsy their way across the country and back?

I have to go back to packing/organizing now. If I don't, someone is sure to be without shoes or underwear.

Epic Road Trip Fast Approaching

In case you missed the decision to embark on the ERT, we have only a few more days to get our crap together and hit the road. Today I picked up prescriptions, got Tanner's school stuff and a bunch of other stuff that I have been needing to do in order to go. Jake's been making sure the van & trailer are ready to go (still need an oil change). I will admit to feeling a bit of trepidation. I am no good at "not sweating the small stuff". Tomorrow's list includes getting Chase's braces off & having a "goodbye" lunch with friends and then more getting ready. Yikes, Friday is coming up quick!!
