At least I got a shower, right?

I started my day writing out my list - 3 pages worth of things to do. Anna's little guys will be here on Sunday to hang with us for awhile so there are some baby proofing that needs to be done. Making some space in some cupboards, moving things out of reach, reorganizing stuff. Last night's grocery shopping (non perishables) were all over the kitchen floor waiting for the pantry clean out. We were making progress on the list and then....... The first unexpected and unwanted event. Yesterday afternoon Kaleb left the freezer door open in Auntie Dawn's garage. She found her defrosted food this morning. Complete with exploded puff pastry thingies? *sigh* Kaleb needs to learn that his habit of hurrying through every thing he does has consequences. In this case, there are expensive consequences. First I made him fix Auntie Dawn some new Sonic ice. He furiously pounded on the ice to break it up - crying as he went. Apparently, it is unfair to have him face his own actions. Then he had to go to the Baker's to clean up the rest of the blown up pastry mess. His take on the crisis? That if he didn't have to go to scout camp on Monday, he wouldn't even be here - he would be with Anders on vacation & the freezer incident wouldn't have occurred. Right, it has nothing to do with his habit of NEVER closing doors, always hurrying through homework, chores, tasks of ANY kind. Nothing to do with it. Ok, back to the list....right? Yep, right after we clean up the V-8 Fusion juice (w/beet juice for heaven's sake) that broke & spilled all over the tile & carpet. **sighs** Back to the list. Right after "helping" Jake write a paper, picking up the pizza for dinner (that Jake said he would be in charge of), calling the advice nurse about Chloe's wrist, talking to Kaleb about his scout camp packing list as he gathered items.....
Bright side? Advice was Advil, ice, rest & keep an eye on Chloe's wrist rather than an ER trip on a Friday night and I got to take a shower.
